A 54-hole four-ball championship on two of New England's finest courses, bringing together some of the best amateur golfers from around the globe.
The Nantucket Invitational is a two-player team championship contested over fifty-four holes across two of the island's celebrated courses. Competition is divided into two separate divisions — Mid-Amateur (ages 25–54) and Senior (ages 55 and older) — each crowned with its own champion.
The Invitational pairs two players in partnership across two days — thirty-six holes at Miacomet on Day One, followed by eighteen holes at Sankaty Head on Day Two. Day One is played entirely at Miacomet — eighteen holes of four-ball in the morning followed by eighteen holes of alternate shot in the afternoon. The Final Round returns to Sankaty Head for eighteen holes of four-ball, where both division champions are crowned.
Sankaty Head, founded in 1921, sits on a ninety-foot bluff above the Atlantic. The course was drawn by local 'Sconset lad Emerson Armstrong, refined by A.W. Tillinghast, and most recently restored by Jim Urbina in 2017. The lighthouse, completed in 1850, stands sentinel over the front nine. Miacomet, on the south side of the island, offers a contrasting test — generous fairways, native fescue, and ocean views from its closing holes.
Two days of competition, hospitality, and tradition on the bluff. All times Eastern.
The Invitational moves between two of Nantucket's signature courses — Sankaty Head's bluff-top links and Miacomet's coastal parkland — for a complete test of the island's golf.
A modern parkland course on Nantucket's south shore, opened in its current 18-hole configuration in 2007. Wide fairways framed by native fescue, deep bunkering, and ocean views from the closing holes — a contrasting test to Sankaty's bluff-top links.
The Atlantic wraps two hundred and seventy degrees of the layout. The lighthouse stands sentinel over the front nine. Designed by Emerson Armstrong in 1921, refined by A.W. Tillinghast, and restored by Jim Urbina in 2017 — one of America's purest links experiences.
Names etched into the Sankaty record. The Invitational has been contested through fog, gale, and high summer light.
